Most often parents walk into my gym telling me they want their kids to become faster and work on agility. That's great, but when I ask the kid to perform an single leg lunge or body weight squat and he or she can not do it without rounding the lower back, and/or keeping the chest up.
Relative body strength is the single most important quality to develop for increased speed, and power. Generally when an athlete sprints he or she applies 4-6 times body weight to each leg with each step. How many kids do you know can squat double body weight? For the kids who cannot handle their own body weight, it will only be time before he or she starts experiencing more and more injuries.
At Explosive Mechanics we work. The kids are pushed and treated like all other athletes, all will not be accepted into the program and some may have to be placed on a waiting list.
You have to gain strength and learn how to use it explosively to become better.
FIT & UNDER 5
These classes are for moms and dads who want to have fun & get fit with their child/children. We focus on cardio, strength, endurance, flexibility, and body composition. Children will gain a positive attitude toward exercise and explore fun fitness activities along with meeting new friends.
Classes will begin August 4th.
Mondays & Wednesdays 9-9:30 & 9:30-10
PARENTS NIGHT OUT
6:30 - 10pm $20 1st
child/ $10 each additional sibling
Scavenger hunts throughout the gym, games, fitness, movies, snacks, arts &
crafts and so much more!
