Athletes have to be willing to work and push through their comfort level. Training is a process, and different qualities take time to develop. Results are not given. They are earned through consistent hard work. If an athlete tries to develop a quality without developing the necessary strengths for that quality he or she will fail. We test what we do and do not base our training on a thought process.
Being in a weight class at your high school is ok, but more often than not they are working out – not training. Progress is not constantly monitored, individual differences are not taken into account, and specific strengths are not being developed.
Explosive Mechanics is not a franchise. If something does not work, we throw it out. Just because something looks good does not mean it works or produces a desired result. A drill may look good, but drills only use abilities one already has. We develop and build athletes, not big bulky people who cannot move.
Athletes have to push to improve and not settle for what they have. Training is not easy, but it's worth it.
